As a horse lover, you naturally want your horse to have a healthy and shiny coat. Unfortunately, horses can suffer from skin problems such as dry and flaky skin, eczema and dermatitis. Fortunately, castor oil offers a natural solution to these conditions.
Castor oil is extracted from the seeds of the miracle tree (Ricinus communis). Known for its beneficial properties for the skin, this oil has been used for centuries for various purposes, including caring for the skin and coat of horses.
Very important try a piece of skin first, to see how your horse reacts to it.
.
Do not spread castor oil on open wounds.
Carefully massage the oil thinly into the tail and mane.
Leave the oil in the mane as long as possible for at least 30 minutes, a few hours afterwards, do not let it sit but wash it out. If necessary, apply shampoo to the mane and tail before rinsing with water. so that the oil is easy to wash out. Use Castor oil 1-2 times a week as an oil cure for best effect.
Apply a few drops of oil on your fingertips (use little)and massage the oil onto the skin. You can leave the oil on for 15 minutes, a few hours. The oil can sometimes feel thick and greasy and it is therefore wise to leave it not apply several times a day. The first time, try a piece of skin to see how your horse reacts to it. If that goes well, you can continue the treatment.
